Thank you to all of our Marching families for going with the flow as our season starts to pickup. Students were looking slick in their uniform fittings and had a great time viewing the best marching groups in the world (and supporting some former [and a current] Knights). Our season continues to pickup momentum this week so please make sure you familiarize yourself with all the points below.

Important Announcements:

• STUDENT PICKUP & PARKING: Thank you for your help by parking in spots for student pickup! This helped alleviate the back up on Pecos road and avoids cars leaving the line as students are walking to their ride.
• SECTIONALS: Dates are currently in the calendar and all information about sectionals can be viewed here.
• CALIFORNIA MARCHING BAND TRIP: Please attend our info meeting on Tuesday (8/11) at 5:30pm in the Media Center. The CA trip is highly encouraged for all marching students, but is not required. If your student is going, make sure to login to your InTouch account, search "Items at all Schools," "Travel," and select the "Marching Band California Trip." PSAT Update: Juniors that are concerned about missing the PSAT being offered at HHS during our trip please have your family email Steven.Cheatham@husd.org. There is a tentative solution, but it involves missing a day of school.
• VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: If you are helping with Concessions at Varsity Football Games, please arrive by 5:30pm instead of the previously scheduled 6pm.

Important Events this Week:

• Monday (8/10): Brass Sectionals 2:20pm-3:15pm; Front Ensemble Sectionals 2:20pm-3:30pm
• Tuesday (8/11): Marching Band CA Trip Info Meeting 5:30pm-6:30pm in HHS Media Center (Normal Marching Rehearsal to follow)
• At least one parent/guardian must be in attendance
• Wednesday (8/12): Clarinet & Piccolo Sectionals 2:20pm-3:15pm; Colorguard Sectionals 2:30pm-4pm
• Thursday (8/13): Marching Band Rehearsal 5:30pm-9:00pm
• Friday (8/14): NO MARCHING BAND EVENTS
• Saturday (8/15): CA Trip Carwash- 7:30am-10:30am @Higley HS. All students needing to fundraise for the trip must be in attendance. Funds raised will be split across all participating students and credited to their account. To sign up for this fundraiser students must access their BH Calendar, click on the event, their desired shift (7-9 or 9-11), and select Volunteer at the bottom of the shift. Students will have pop-up ramadas and will rotate inside & outside. Please share the flyer at the bottom of the newsletter with as many people as you can!

Upcoming Marching Band Dates:

• *NEW CALENDAR ADDITION* Friday (8/21): Varsity Football Pep Rally 6 pm-8pm
• Thursday (8/27): First Football Game @ Queen Creek HS 5:30pm-10:30pm *Travel times subject to change*
• Friday (8/28): Marching Band Rehearsal (to supplement missing class time the day before) 5:30pm-9pm
