We made it through the first full week of school! Now students have a glimpse at what their school week will look like as we get into the year. It is crucial that students make the most of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings to keep up with homework and stay academically eligible to perform. If you feel like your student is falling behind in other classes, please feel free to send us a message and we can reach out to upperclassmen to help mentor younger students through challenging classes.

As always, please read through this entire newsletter so that you know our upcoming dates and the season begins to pick up momentum!

Some important details to note:

• STUDENT PICKUP & PARKING: It has been brought to our attention that the car pickup line after rehearsals has gotten long and potentially hazardous. To address this we ask that all families park their car in the parking lot and have their student walk over to the parking spot to be taken home. This will help setup the successful routine of picking up from field trips when the front office lane is not accessible due to the box truck and buses. • SECTIONALS: The start of August also brings in the start of Sectionals. Sectionals are a grade to show individual/section work outside of rehearsal. These dates are not mandatory; however, to receive a grade students must be in a submitted video. Dates are currently in the calendar and all information about sectionals can be viewed here.
• CALIFORNIA MARCHING BAND TRIP: Please attend our info meeting on Tuesday (8/11) at 5:30pm in the Media Center. The CA trip is highly encouraged for all marching students, but is not required. If your student is going, make sure to login to your InTouch account, search "Items at all Schools," and select the "Marching Band California Trip." Those concerned about the overlapping PSAT date: I am still working with admin on a solution for our Marching students to accomplish both!
• BOOSTERHUB CHATS: Update your BH app! The latest update allows users to "react" to message. This is a great alternative to let folks know that you've seen and acknowledge a message without notifying the couple hundred people in the chat. Please consider utilizing reactions so that the MB-General chat and the MB-Parents chat keep pertinent information handy.
• NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ADDED: Please check out the volunteer spot on your BH Dashboard if you can help us with Uniform Fitting this Saturday.

• Monday (8/3): Battery Sectionals 2:20pm-3:30pm
• Tuesday (8/4): No Marching Rehearsal; HHS Curriculum Night 5pm-8pm
• We had our Marching Meeting back in May; however, if you have any questions about the season or would like to say "Hi" to the directors you are welcome to swing by between 7:40pm - 8:00pm.
• Marching Percussion students were just asked to play music as we welcome families to campus. Percussion students should arrive at 4:45pm and will be finished at 5:30pm
• Wednesday (8/5): Colorguard Sectionals 2:30pm-4pm
• Thursday (8/6): Marching Band Rehearsal 5:30pm-9:00pm
• Friday (8/7): NO MARCHING BAND EVENTS
• Saturday (8/8): Unform Fitting 9am-12pm / Senior Banner Photos 9am-12pm / DCI Viewing 5:30pm-8:30pm (Exact details below)
• Colorguard uniforms are special ordered and come at a later date. Guard members do not need to arrive until DCI Viewing at 5:30pm.
• 9:00 AM - Drum Majors and Seniors (Uniform fitting & Senior Banner Photos)
• 9:45 AM - Juniors
• 10:30 AM - Sophomores
• 11:15 AM - Freshman
• DCI Finals Viewing
• 5:30 PM - Start time for DCI viewing
• If you want to be here at 3:30 when the first group performs we will have the stream up and running. As a band we are only watching the later groups. 
• This event is a potluck; check with your section leaders on the BH section chat to see what items you are responsible for bringing.
• Plan to finish between 7:30 and 8.

• Tuesday (8/11): Marching Band CA Trip Info Meeting 5:30pm-6:30pm in HHS Media Center (Normal Marching Rehearsal to follow)
• *NEW CALENDAR ADDITION* Saturday (8/15): CA Trip Carwash- 7:30am-10:30am @Higley HS. More details soon to follow.
• *NEW CALENDAR ADDITION* Friday (8/21): Varsity Football Pep Rally. Time TBD (Likely 6pm-8pm)
• Thursday (8/27): First Football Game @ Queen Creek HS 5:30pm-10:30pm *Travel times subject to change*
• Friday (8/28): Marching Band Rehearsal (to supplement missing class time the day before) 5:30pm-9pm
